Iced Coffee
Some people like to begin their day with healthy drinks like avocado juice. For me, I like to start my day with a cup of coffee.
Begin your food trail with a cup of iced-coffee from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (CBTL). Their beverage menu is quite extensive, which means there is bound to be something that you will like!
Chilli Tuna Linguine
I did not know that CBTL served food, so imagine my wide-eyed-surprised-look when I saw their food menu. The portion for this Chilli Tuna Linguine was huge, and it tasted quite spicy. Not bad at all!
Food For Thought
Food for Thought is an item from their all-day breakfast menu, and we all agreed that this was one of the more "Instagram-worthy' dish, although it is a very basic assemble of soft-boiled eggs, toasts and salad.
The best thing about the CBTL at Tampines 1 is their view. It is an open-area, which means you get 360 degrees view of all the people walking and doing their shopping (or food trail) in the mall. You can indulge in deep thoughts while having your Food for Thought, or you can simply people-watch. You never know, you might just catch the girl/guy of your dreams walking past you...

Wintermelon Icy Dessert ($5.40), Tofu Beancurd w Matcha and Sesame Balls ($5.40)
The way to eat the Tofu Beancurd is to actually intersperse with a few spoonfuls of the sweet red bean periodically, to get their sweetness on your tongue. Then, lighten the sweetness with the beancurd+seasame/matcha balls. Repeat until the bowl is clean.
Resist the urge to order another bowl, because we are going for our #3 stop!

Seaweed Red Pepper Skinny Fries
Their fries come in 2 flavours: Seaweed Red Pepper and KIMCHI. We had both, and I couldn't pick which one I liked better because both are equally good! My inner Korean is asking me to choose the Kimchi flavour though. KAMSAHAMIDA!
Soy Garlic Chicken and Hot Chicken
And of course, the hand-painted chickens. Each chicken is painstakingly hand-painted with the sauce, to give each piece of chicken that perfect amount of flavour. Apparently, the soy garlic flavour is the more popular flavour amongst Singaporeans, but the Evilbean prefers the hot flavour.

Katsu Chicken Sandwich with Kimchi Coleslaw
Don't you wanna lick the kimchi coleslaw just by looking at this photo?
What is interesting about this sandwich is that the texture of the sandwich feels more like the "fried mantou" kind - the ones you will often order together with your chilli crab. The result is a crispy first bite, followed by the chicken meat, then the flavours of the kimchi coleslaw spreading in your mouth.
Chicken Burger (Soy Garlic+Hot), Tofu Salad, Calamari & Shrimp
The sesame soyu dressing is the star of the Tofu Salad, as it lends the greens a very aromatic and distinct sesame flavour. If are an avid Japanese food lover, you would know that this dressing is popular in Japanese cuisines - they drench almost every food with sesame soyu, which is a testament to how good and versatile this dressing is.
The calamari and shrimp were also fried to crispy goodness, and comes in their 2 signature flavours - Soy Garlic and Hot.
According to 4Fingers, most of their ingredients are imported fresh daily, even on the weekends. They do not use frozen chickens, and any remaining ingredients are discarded at the end of the day to ensure freshness. With such attention to quality, how can we not give our local brand 2 thumbs up?

After having chickens that are a fusion of Asian-American, continue the fusion-food journey at B1 with Miam Miam - a cafe that serves a fusion of French-Japanese delights!
Iced Matcha Latte with Matcha Softee ($8.80)
You should definitely cleanse your palette with this Matcha Latte w Matcha Softee! The matcha taste is refreshing without being too overbearingly sweet, and the matcha softee is just PERRRRFECT for the hot weather these days!
Miam Miam Spaghetti ($16.80)
I wasn't particular impressed with this dish when I visited Miam Miam in 2014. However, I was impressed this time round as the spaghetti is much more fragrant; I could taste the myriad of flavours. The bacons, baby spinach, tomatoes, frankfurters and french butter all came together very nicely in this Miam Miam's specialty dish. Yum yum!
Souffle de Nuage ($16.80)
The Souffle de Nuage (HOW DO YOU EVEN PRONOUNCE THE NUAGE) is a rice dish that is sauteed with home-style fresh tomato and topped with a fluffy cloud of egg and cheese. Miam Miam made it possible for us to finally taste the clouds, and OMG this tasted DELICIOUS. ORDER THIS!
French Toast ($10.80)
We are all so accustomed to seeing ice-cream on top of anything nowadays. So much so that YOU MUST HAVE AUTOMATICALLY ASSUMED THAT THAT BALL OF WHITE IS AN ICE-CREAM.
No. It's actually whipped cream. 
I liked how the french toast is fluffy and soft like pillows. Maybe they can venture into a new business making REAL PILLOWS with these french toast?
Caramelised Banana Pancake ($13.80)
Golden Caramel sauce.

Valrhona Chocolate Soufflé ($13.80)
I feel that this is their most controversial dish. Some love this to bits, others like the Evilbean do not. The valrhona chocolate is good, but I found the texture of the souffle to be too moist and soft for my liking. The others were just "MMM-ing" and "OHH-ing" when they tasted this though.

Food Stop #5: Hot Star 豪大大鸡排 (Level B1-K3)
You can literally step outside of Miam Miam for your food stop #5 - Hot Star aka 豪大大鸡排. Most Singaporeans should be no stranger to this, as it has quite a few outlets in Singapore and is pretty famous in Taiwan as well.
Signature Large Fried Chicken - Original, Seaweed, Sour Plum ($7.40)
Look at how bored the auntie looked. That is also probably the face on our friends when we are trying to take photos of food. 
Out of the 3 flavours that I tried, I found the sour plum flavour to be the most interesting.
If you like to eat guavas with sour plum powder, you would LOVE this combination of sweet and savoury flavours on your chicken cutlet.
Hot Star doesn't recommend the cutting on their chicken cutlet (一律不剪). As explained by the boss, this practice is to retain the juiciness and crispiness of the chicken. Therefore, you get to enjoy the intended texture Hotstar wants you to taste - succulent, juicy and crispy.
Popcorn Squid Combo Meal ($6.90)
You have to try out this popcorn squid on your stop here. Fried to golden texture, this popcorn squid is a medley of crispy exterior and soft, chewy interior. This was highly recommended by the boss as well!
Sour Plum Sweet Potatoes ($3)
Sour and sweet comes together in this sour plum sweet potato snack. Get a pack of this to nibble on while you stroll to the next food stop of the food trail!

I have been looking forward to this food stop ever since the start of the food trail.
Like how kids rush at the sight of balloons, I was drawn to the place immediately when I saw the flurry of nitrogen gas emitted from the mixing bowl:
"Oooooohhh..!"
The unique selling point of 320 Below is that the ice-cream are freshly made upon order. This means no preservatives, emulsifiers or stabilizers. To make it even more guilt free, their ice-creams are low in sugar and do not have any flavourings (natural or artificial).
Also, no germs can survive with a temperature of -320F. Therefore, what you get from 320 below is ice-cream that is clean and relatively guilt free!
Thai Coconut ($5.80), Earl Grey+Lychee Mix (+$0.80 for additional flavours)
I was surprised to discover real coconut bits inside their Thai Coconut ice-cream. They were not kidding when they say that they use real ingredients for their ice-cream; We were shown the actual coconut that they used for this flavour!
What I absolutely loved is the texture of the ice-cream. It was smooth and luscious, almost gelato-like. This is due to the quick-freeze process, which ensured that there is no build up of ice crystals in the ice cream. I couldn't stop digging my spoon into the Thai Coconut and Earl Grey Lychee flavour. So good OMG. The earl grey+lychee combination is a MUST TRY!
Black Forest Flavour ($5.80)
This was slightly sweeter, and I felt that the addition of that dollop of whipped cream just makes this look 100% unhealthier.

Stick your spoon into their awesome LN2 (Liquid Nitrogen) ice-creams instead!

Again, we are all too familiar with the immense health benefits of ingesting bird nest. Besides providing good effects for menstrual discomfort, it also helps prevent cancer, enhance immune function and of course, lowers cholesterol.
I sampled their bird nest and I must say, they are really generous with the bird nest in their samples!
