Why did Chang-er escape from Hou-yi?
Because Hou-yi didn't let Chang-er eat mooncakes, for fear of her getting fat.
"I FLY TO THE MOON AND EAT ALL THE MOONCAKES MYSELF!"
Yes, Mid-Autumn Festival is coming and that means it's the time of the year where we buy boxes of mooncakes to give to our relatives, families and friends. And of course, for ourselves!
In celebration of Singapore's 50th birthday, Swensen's has released the SG50 Moon Gems mooncakes that feature the iconic Merlion emblem!
The moon gems mooncakes comes in six delectable options, some of which are Singapore's most popular local flavours.
1. Crunchy Milo (NEW) - Bite into the Crunchy Milo mooncake that features the rich malty taste of Milo filled with plush marshmallows and crunchy almond.
2. Lychee Dreams (NEW) - Light refreshing taste of sweet, fragrant translucent white flesh of lychee blended with Swensen's Lychee ice cream. This is my personal favourite!
3. Yummy Yam (NEW) - Back by popular demand, Swensen's signature Yam ice-cream returns with this familiar aroma of sweet, creamy yam.
4. Sticky Chewy Chocolate - Best-selling Swensen's signature! Wrapped in soft pastry skin, this rich chocolaty goodness will linger in your mouth with every bite.
5. Durian Royale - Savour the rich pungent plavours of D24 durian ice-cream with this Durian Royale!
6. Strawberry Fields Forever - Reminscent of Singapore's eternal summer days, Swensen's creamy strawberry ice-cream mooncake is abound with fresh ripe strawberries from the sweetest harvest.
It was an agony as I stood in front of the Swensen's mooncake fridge and pondered which four of the six I should pick for my box. After what seemed like an eternity, I finally decided on Lychee Dreams, Yummy Yam, Sticky Chewy Chocolate and Durian Royale.
Yes, I actually carried the whole box of mooncakes all the way down to the park below my block just to take these photos. And I had to do it fast because they were ice-creams!
I liked how these pictures turned out though, really gives the feeling of enjoying mooncakes while relaxing in the park!
Also, what I really really loved about this collection is that red box... IT ACTUALLY LIGHTS UP!
